Do I HAVE to do a Food Journal???

“I need you to keep a food journal”…this statement seems to cause even the most well intended person to stop dead in their tracks on the journey towards wellness. The Food Journal is quite possibly the most important tool to not only your Nutrition Practitioner but also to you personally. By tracking everything that you are putting in your body you gain a deeper insight into possible food sensitivities, trigger foods, hidden sources of sugar in the diet and even emotional triggers that may be causing you to eat. The food journal also makes you aware of not only how much you are eating but is a good place to track any symptoms that occur after each meal such as bloating, gas, abdominal discomfort etc.

Though the idea of a daily food journal can seem daunting and like an invasion of your privacy it really should be seen as a useful tool. I can tell you from personal experience once you start paying attention to what you are eating your choices get better. Knowledge is power, with awareness comes change and growth, the more self aware we become the farther we are able to progress on our journey to our become our best selves. Don’t be afraid of the Food Journal, as a practitioner I am on my own journey to my best self and am not here to judge…rather I am here to support and guide you in making better choices that will benefit your health and help you on your own journey to wellness.
